Facts about the MUNGO N/C Reconnaissance
Among other things, the MUNGO N/C Reconnaissance is equipped with a radiation detection device for N reconnaissance and a flame spectrophotometer with sensor bank for C air reconnaissance, the double-wheel sampling system with automatic wheel changer for C ground reconnaissance, the mass spectrometer MM including periphery and intake system, marking equipment, meteorological device and sample collection equipment.
The information and communication equipment includes HF and VHF radio sets as well as a data connection to the army command and information system. Furthermore, the vehicle has a GPS-supported vehicle navigation system and an IP-capable intercommunication system, including an external telephone.
An NBC protective ventilation system, air conditioning system and rear-view camera are also on hand.
The vehicle has a range of over 400 km on roads and can achieve a maximum speed of 90 km/h. It is capable of overcoming inclinations of up to 42 % and traversing hillsides with a pitch angle of up to 30 %.
The MUNGO N/C Reconnaissance has a ground clearance of 213 mm and can drive through bodies of water at depths down to 500 mm.
The crew consists of driver, commander and one recon soldier.
The use of armoured steel provides the vehicle with ballistic protection from small arms fire. The internal power pack and the use of run-flat rings in the tyres enable high remaining mobility.
