In addition to its first-class protection and mobility features, the secret to the success of the DINGO 2 is based on its variable equipment concept. Thanks to an extensive selection of equipment options, the safety cell can be adapted to the customer’s requirements.
DINGO 2 AC Recce – High-tech encased in steel
Laboratory work under special protection
The armoured, lower large-capacity safety cell forms a continuous space in the driver and crew compartment.
Radioactivity detection devices are arranged on the front of the vehicle.
A sampling system for detecting and analysing chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals is integrated into the rear of the vehicle.
A launcher system automatically marks danger zones.
The vehicle can be equipped with a remote-controllable weapon station from KNDS Deutschland or alternative manufacturers.
Facts about the DINGO 2 NC Reconnaissance Vehicle
The DINGO 2 NC Recce special vehicle is equipped with cutting-edge sensors for detecting radioactive and chemical warfare agents. Its performance spectrum surpasses the capabilities of much larger NBC reconnaissance vehicles. The configuration of the armoured steel safety cell as a low large-capacity cell with two side doors in the driver and passenger area as well as an additional side door and a rear door in the mission area constitutes a special feature of the numerous variants of DINGO vehicles.
The sophisticated cell architecture enables crew members to disembark in order to conduct measurements in contaminated areas which are difficult to reach with the vehicle, as well as return to the protected space of the vehicle. A sealed-off area at the rear of the safety cell prevents the entire interior of the vehicle from being contaminated.
As with all other DINGO variants, the tested and mission-proven safety concept provides its occupants with the greatest possible protection from anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, IEDs, small arms and shrapnel from artillery and mortar shells. In addition, the DINGO 2 also has protection from NBC warfare agents as a standard feature.
The DINGO 2 NC Recce can be equipped with a 7.62/12.7mm weapon station for self-defence.
High performance capability – Low life-cycle costs – Easy maintenance
As a highly modern wheeled vehicle, the DINGO 2 is not only ideally equipped for diverse mission profiles and extreme terrain conditions, but also for a long and cost-effective service life. The militarised Unimog chassis reduces training and instruction effort for drivers and mechanics. The low-maintenance, robust diesel engine is also an economic advantage. Furthermore, the KNDS Deutschland customer service offers worldwide vehicle service – even directly in the deployment zone – and assists in spare part supply. This ensures that vehicles will be able to deliver their full performance at all times.
