The BOXER tracked was developed to meet current international requirements and addresses the need for a small logistics footprint, low costs and a simple digital operating concept.
Performance characteristics of the BOXER tracked
More than 20 mission modules are already available thanks to the interface commonality with the wheel-based BOXER system. New technologies can be introduced at any time via new mission modules without decommissioning the vehicle.
The vehicle can be supplemented with an electric drive at the customer's request. This enables silent approaches and quick spurts.
With a power-to-weight ratio of up to 25 kW/t and a balanced and proven chassis, the BOXER tracked has superior off-road capability that significantly outperforms the wheeled BOXER.
The use of cutting-edge protection technologies enables the use of modular protection configurations against different threats.
Thanks to the higher permissible overall weight, the protection level can be increased beyond that of the wheeled BOXER with the same mission equipment.
A balanced cooling and heating concept enables the vehicle to be operated without restriction in nearly any climate zone.
Additional stowage options enable missile or UGV launchers to be carried in addition to personal equipment.
Facts on the BOXER tracked
The tried and tested BOXER system taken to the next level. The innovative track drive module has an increased level of protection and a level of mobility that is otherwise only comparable to heavy tracked vehicles.
The optimal combination of durable and proven technologies, modular digital architecture, and ready-to-run hybrid drive makes the BOXER tracked particularly effective.
In the future, both current and forthcoming BOXER mission modules can be universally deployed utilizing a wheel drive module and/or a track drive module. The ability to switch between wheel and track without restriction allows mission modules to be deployed with the best mobility capability (wheel/track) adapted to the specific situation.
This inimitable symbiosis results in high operational readiness, efficiency and above all reliability – made in Germany.
Since the concept of the BOXER tracked is based on the modular system of the BOXER vehicle family, the drive module can be combined with all available BOXER mission modules. More than 20 different mission modules have already been introduced.
When different mission modules are deployed within different military branches, the logistical effort can be significantly reduced and new technologies can be introduced quickly and universally while retaining the same drive module.
- Durable, low-maintenance track drive module with proven and field-tested technologies and potential for enhancement
- Full compatibility and interchangeability with current and forthcoming BOXER mission modules due to interface compatibility
- Modular protection concept and mobility features at infantry fighting vehicle level

Modularity of the BOXER family
The BOXER family was conceived as a modular platform. In all variants, it consists of a wheeled or tracked drive module and an interchangeable mission module. In total, more than 20 different mission modules are available.
By selecting different mission modules on two different mobility platforms, the vehicle family can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of operational conditions. Thus, a wide variety of capabilities can be demonstrated with the greatest possible operational efficiency.
Thanks to the modular principle underlying the drive and mission module, the concept also offers unlimited enhancement potential for new technologies. The BOXER family thus offers maximum flexibility, superior survivability, and exceptional reliability - today and in the future.
The BOXER tracked off-road
Thanks to the high modularity of the BOXER system, ground forces can be equipped with a single vehicle family consisting of wheeled and tracked vehicles.
