Optical systems and weapon systems
The product group is in charge of the strategic procurement of visual and weapon systems for our vehicles. These include cutting-edge optical and optronic systems for early and far-reaching target acquisition, as well as rapid, high-precision fire control solutions and high-performance fire power for effective target engagement.
In addition, further highly complex subsystems contribute to crew protection, improving close-range reconnaissance and active defence against threats.
Development partnerships with national and international technology leaders and the continuous search for reliable and superior unique selling points in consideration of the extreme requirements, specific customer requests and regulations are the product group’s major areas of activity.
Vehicle drive and chassis
The chassis / drive product group handles the strategic procurement of mobility solutions for our vehicles. Rapid advancements in the field of drive technologies, increasing competition and a globalising supplier structure require an efficient cooperation between KNDS Deutschland and its partners across all interfaces. For this reason, the chassis / drive product group works closely with innovative partners. The goal and challenge are the joint development of mobility concepts for our vehicles, which are recognised as state of the art, and ensuring the superiority of our vehicles in the field of mobility.
Ballistic protection
The procurement volumes for the ballistic protection product group must fulfil demanding requirements in many areas, since they make a fundamental contribution to the security of our vehicles.
For instance, the components and finished products must factor in official specifications and additional customer demands concerning quality and approval requirements. The implementation of these quality requirements is an economic challenge in light of the ever-rising protection requirements in connection with extraordinarily long project terms in all relevant markets of the product group.
